“La Buca di San Matteo” is located in the Old City on the ground floor of a medieval building. The open kitchen offers proximity with the cooks where customers can admire and enjoy Italian cuisine, new concept in the early 2000s. A new space was created in the old well, allowing for the formation of a private room for an intimate dinner. Through the glass floor you can still see the water at the bottom of the well.
Together, the preserved original wooden ceiling, the noble materials of the furniture, the textures of the bricks, the stone elements, the soft lights and the warm color palette used, give the restaurant a cozy atmosphere and comfy and elegant design.

“La Buca di San Matteo” si trova nel centro storico al piano terra di un edificio medievale. La cucina a vista offre la possibilità di ammirare la preparazione dei piatti della cucina italiana, concetto del tutto nuovo nel 2003. Nel vecchio pozzo è stato creato un nuovo spazio, una sala privata per una cena intima. Attraverso il pavimento di vetro si può ancora vedere l’acqua sul fondo del pozzo. Insieme, il soffitto originale in legno, i materiali nobili degli arredi, le texture dei mattoni, gli elementi in pietra, la luce calda e soffusa, donano al ristorante un’atmosfera accogliente e un design confortevole ed elegante.
